How to Start Your Own Teddy Bear Collection

Everyone loves teddy bears. Think back to your childhood? Who was your best friend?  If you’re at this website, it was probably your bear.  When you were sleepy you snuggled him.  When you were scared you hugged him. When you were happy you played with him. You had tea together. You played house. He rode with you in the car on long family trips. He was your constant companion. Maybe you still have him? Maybe he needs friends.

So how do you go about investing in bears? First buy what you like, what you relate to in a bear. More than likely you’ll display your collection proudly and you’ll want to enjoy the warmth and love that bears bring to a room. Secondly consider price and if your selections have potential to increase in value.  Keep in mind that some vintage bears have been sold at auction for as high as $100,000, obviously out of most of our price ranges. Be prepared, however to pay in the mid to high hundred dollar ranges for antique bears.

Modern bears, however, are the collectibles of the future. Many of the more classic bears can be bought for as little as $20.00.  So again, buy what you love.  Winnie the Pooh in all his forms is always a good choice.  There are also, an endless supply of china, books, toys, and clothes, to round out your collection.
